Martinsville Economic Development
Martinsville's Economic Development efforts are directed by the Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation, led by CEO Mark Heath. He is assisted by a team of professionals in tourism, small & minority business development, marketing, research and development.
The office is located at 134 East Church St., Suite 200, Martinsville, in the SunTrust
Bank building. Our staff of economic development and municipal officials works with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission, U.S. Economic Development Administration and other state and federal partners to maximize incentives for companies wanting to do business in Martinsville and Henry County. The city and surrounding communities have a large pool of available labor, many trained in new skills after textile and furniture closings. The city's unique location offers attractive options for transportation and distribution companies as a central community within 40 miles of the new FedEx hub being constructed in Greensboro, NC and within 60 miles of the new Dell Computer plant in Forsyth County, NC. Numerous lots are available in the growing Patriot Centre Industrial Park, already home to such companies as Bassett Furniture, Sara Lee, VF-Nautica, Knauss Snack Foods, Spring Industries, Accretive Commerce and MasterBrand Cabinets. The Clearview Business Park in Martinsville also has available, ready-to-build lots near the park's anchor building, now being marketed to companies looking for an available, wired, high technology office building with available room to expand and add light manufacturing. Martinsville is eager to work with you to locate new and diverse operations in the city. Contact the EDC office at 276-403-5940. |
