Vice-Mayor Kimble Reynolds Jr.

Kimble Reynolds Jr. was elected to Martinsville City Council in May 2004 and was selected by council as its new vice-mayor two months later.  His fellow council members elected him Mayor of the City of Martinsville in July of 2006.    He served two years as Mayor.  In July of 2008, he was chosen to serve as vice-mayor.

Reynolds is an attorney in private practice, an entrepreneur and an instructor. The son of Kimble and Larneal Reynolds, he is a member of Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Reynolds is a graduate of Laurel Park High School and of Virginia Tech.  In 1988, he earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in marketing after serving as class president and participating in the England Study Abroad Program.  He subsequently earned a Master's in education from Tech in 1995.  He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1993.  He is past president of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Reynolds has been an attorney in Martinsville since 1993.  After returning to the area, he taught business law as an adjunct professor at Patrick Henry Community College. He founded the Diversity and Conflict Resolution Program in 1998 to promote understanding of peoples with diverse backgrounds.  As director, he worked to expose high school students to college and to promote self-awareness, appreciation of social and cultural differences, and development of conflict resolution skills.

He serves on several boards, including SunTrust Bank, United Way, West Piedmont Planning District Commission, Focus on Youth and Virginia Tech's Advisory Council for the College of Business.
